POC’s Roadside Explosive Device X-ray (REX) detecting system, focuses X-ray energy for quick detection of improvised explosive devices (IED). The focusing approach allows the safe and effective use of low levels of X-ray radiation. REX utilizes proprietary Lobster – Eye (LE) structure, X-ray generator, scintillating crystal, CCD, and image processing module. This allows for safe real - time X-ray detection of IEDs hidden in roadside walls, abandoned vehicles, and containers. REX is also a teleoperated system which can be deployed on a small UGV, and will inspect roadside objects with a maneuverable 360º view.
