POC has been built based on a unique blend of commercial business, it’s own
internal R&D, and government technology development contracts. Many of POC’s
advanced technology and products have been implemented by private industry and government
agencies including DOD (Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps), NASA and DOE. POC
has a continuing commitment of product development and production to meet both commercial
and government needs. The company’s commercial growth has been funded through
substantial equity investment, strategic alliances with major corporations, licensing
agreements, and joint ventures. This has resulted in POC commercializing over 100
products, developing over 62 technologies, with numerous commercial licensing agreements.
This is in addition to our six spin-off companies and two joint venture companies.
The Light Shaping Diffuser products and Broadata Communication’s digital fiber
optic links are two highly successful product lines that were launched from POC’s
technology development. POC is a private, employee owned company, and for a small
company we have a high density of patents and intellectual property, with over 92
U.S. issued patents and a larger number of patents pending in the U.S. and around
the world.
With a rich and expansive portfolio of products and technologies, POC is seeking
to expand its business relationships in key commercial areas and grow both our commercial
and key government business. Our entire portfolio of technologies are in various
stages of completion. Many of these technologies can now be demonstrated at POC,
and some are ready for commercial development.
Funding Agencies
DOD (Army, Navy, Air Force, DARPA, DHS, HSARPA, Special Operations Command, NIMA,
MDS, DTRA, OSD-DD&E and CBC) and from DOE, NIH, NSF, NASA, and DOC (NIST Advanced
Technology Program).
Collaboration – POC has or is working with Wright Patterson Air Force Base,
NASA Laboratories, DOE Laboratories, Sandia National Laboratories and numerous universities.
POC’s products are fielded in 61 DOD and DOE sites including displays on aircraft
and tanks, video surveillance equipment at nuclear facilities and multimedia links
at U.S. intelligence and NATO centers. Our data network products are on U.S. NAVY
capital ships, and we supply a variety of components integrated by prime contractors
at military facilities.
This Technology Summary section identifies technologies that are emerging at POC,
which are ready for commercial implementation. At this stage, POC is looking for
enabling companies to work with on an OEM level, and for commercial implementation
of the technology. This includes product purchases, licensing agreements, joint
ventures or spin-off company activity. These “commercial ready” technologies
are described below.
